Offline 048 / Acrylic on tablet / 2023

The series Offline is made of monochrome acrylic paiting on broken digital tablets. It shows a sequence of landscapes and visual quotations from cultural history, pointing to our so called „analogue“ world beyond the parallel world of the internet. The colour is put onto the glass with the hand – in the sense of a ”touch screen“. Being “offline“ today can also mean a form of independence, as a growing part of our lives seems to take place in the www. When and where are we present? What does it mean to be away? Which kind of room creates space within ourselves?
